Find books and other documents in Shain Library

Organization of books in Shain Library:

  • Dewey Decimal Classification - older books in compact shelving (lower-level)
  • Government Documents - Connecticut & Federal documents in compact shelving (lower-level)
  • Juvenile Collection - children's books (part of the main circulating collection—2nd floor)
  • Library of Congress Classification - includes Reference (main floor), as well as the main circulating collection (2nd & 3rd floor)
  • Lear Center for Special Collections & Archives - rare & exceptional holdings available by appointment in the Lear Center (2nd floor)
