Letter of Faculty Support

In order to be considered for the Connecticut College Prize for Undergraduate Library Research, all applications must include a completed copy of the Faculty Support Form.

The Faculty Support Form should be filled out by the faculty member who taught the class in which the research was undertaken.

While the Faculty Support Form indicates to the Library Prize Committee that each application is worthy of consideration, it also provides an opportunity to faculty to comment further on the quality of student work.

Although not required, additional faculty comments might address how well the student's research meets the following award criteria:

  • Originality, depth, breadth, and/or sophistication in the use of library collections

  • Exceptional ability to select, evaluate, and synthesize library resources for successful use in the creation of a project in any medium

  • Evidence of increased understanding of the research process, and acquisition of newfound knowledge
