Research

$500 Award | Applications due 3/08/2024 | Winners published in Digital Commons

Who is Eligible?

Eligible applicants must:

  • be currently enrolled undergraduate students at Connecticut College

  • have completed research or other work (as defined broadly on the Home tab) for a credit course -- not an honors project -- in the previous Spring, Fall, or current semester
  • any collaborative or team research project must be submitted as a joint prize application and the prize must be split equally among the entire team, regardless of how many team members do the work of filling out the application. It is not possible for multiple prize applications to be made from the same project

  • only one submission per applicant is allowed, as this is a somewhat lengthy process; we want students to choose their best work and focus on submitting one very good application

  • agree that all application materials will be kept on file by the Library Prize Committee for one year, except for the winning research statement(s), which will be included in the permanent collections of the Lear Center for Special Collections and Archives

  • agree that, if selected as a winner or finalist, the citation for their article or entry, along with their research statement, will appear in the Digital Commons (full-text inclusion in Digital Commons or in a related digital publication will be optional)

  • agree to attend the library prize awards ceremony in April
