How to Make a PSA (Public Service Announcement): Identify a Topic or Cause

Identify a topic or cause that you want to highlight in your PSA. What local, regional, or national organization with a local office works on this issue that you can promote in your PSA?

Determine your audience. Think about what your audience knows or doesn’t know about the issue. Think about what they care about and what might get them to take action.

Determine what your call to action will be and make it as specific and concrete as possible. Below are a few suggestions for narrowing your topic search and getting into character in terms of what is known and what is going on.
