RefWorks

An introduction to RefWorks, a web-based bibliography and citation manager that enables users to create their own personal database of citations by importing references from the library catalog, library databases, and elsewhere.
Install the Add-On for Microsoft Word

RefWorks Citation Manager (RCM) is a plugin for Microsoft Word that lets you run a simplified version of RefWorks inside Word.

  • Available for Mac and Windows 8.1 and 10
  • Compatible with Word 2016, 2019, and Office 365
  • RCM is available through the Microsoft Store and can be installed directly from Microsoft Word

Installing Reference Citation Manager (Mac)

  1. In Microsoft Word, select Insert > Add-ins > Get Add-ins
  2. Search for RefWorks. RefWorks Citation Manager will be displayed. Select Add.
  3. Once the Add-in is installed you will see RCM in the top menu bar of Word.
  4. Select the RCM tab and click the RCM button. The RCM pane opens on the right side of the document.
  5. Log into RefWorks.

 

 

Write-N-Cite (WnC) writing tool add-in for Microsoft Word will no longer be supported after December 2024. All users should upgrade to RefWorks Citation Manger (RCM) add-in.
