This is a list of resources available for instructors to reduce the time spent looking for open educational resources (OER) in astronomy.

 

  • Astronomy - OpenStax

    By Andrew Fraknoi, David Morrison, and Sidney C. Wolff. Astronomy is designed to meet the scope and sequence requirements of one- or two-semester introductory astronomy courses. The book begins with relevant scientific fundamentals and progresses through an exploration of the solar system, stars, galaxies, and cosmology.

  • Astropedia - OER Commons

    An introduction to the nature of the universe. Use it to research or review our solar system, stars, galaxies, and the history of the universe. Each chapter has a set of corresponding homework questions.

  • Astronomy Center

    Collection of digital resources for college-level introductory astronomy faculty and students.

    Lots of resources such as pictures, images, videos and other materials for the study and teaching of astronomy and other sciences.
