Need more sources?

This guide primarily displays general reference materials—in other words, those that cover a wide range of topics or are applicable to a wide range of projects. But there are many more subject specific materials available through the library. To find them, there are a number of things you can do:

  • You can visit the library's Database page and choose a subject, or resource type. The page includes one specifically dedicated to Reference Tools, which provides links to general as well as subject-specific reference works, as do many of the individual subject pages .
  • You can visit the Subject Guide page for the subject in which you're interested. For many subjects, librarians have listed the top resources available, including background and reference materials.
  • You can try a search in the library's OneSearch engine. First, search for the subject using one or more keywords (e.g., "politics," "literature," "music," "psychology"); you can either search "Everything" or narrow it to "ConnColl Books and Media." Then, on the facets on the lefthand side of the page, scroll down to "Location/Collection." Click "Show More," and then in the resulting list, find "Reference Collection."
